Flowers Dont Grow Here wins at the Document 4 Film Festival
Documentary film Flowers Dont Grow Here has been awarded the Big Issue Social Care Award at the Document 4: International Human Rights Film Festival. Sam Waylens - Chair of the award panel who selected the film from six short-listed documentaries and over 90 films in competition - said he and his fellow judges were struck by ...an uncompromising and harrowing view of a world that few had seen before. He added that it was ...remarkable, tough but moving piece of film-making." The film was also short-listed for the festivals other award - the UNICEF Films4Life Award. Now in its fourth year, Document 4 focuses on international human rights documentaries and takes place annually in Glasgow (12th 16th October 2006). |

International sales of Flowers Dont Grow Here
The documentary has made a number of international sales, including to RTP (Portugal), SIC (Portugal) and Canal+ Poland. Additionally, the film will have multiple transmissions in July and August on the UKs Community Channel. The film is represented by London-Based distributor Journeyman Pictures.

Flowers Dont Grow Here commended at the International Human Rights Film Festival
Documentary Flowers Dont Grow Here was awarded a Special Mention in the OMCT Award category at the International Human Rights Film Festival in Geneva. One of only three awards given at the festival, the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT) Award is given to filmmaker(s) who highlight a particular situation showing the need to fight for human rights. First place was awarded to Year By Year by Liu Wei (China).

Documentary Flowers Dont Grow Here has been selected in-competition to the Phoenix Film Festival, named by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the "Top 25 Film Festivals in the World". The festival takes place from the 23rd to 30th March 2006.
