Scottish producer Sarah Tierney combines a background in environmental science with experience of documentary, drama and live-broadcast production, on locations ranging from India to Ukraine, Siberia to Australia. Several of these productions have been award-winning, including: the 2003 Commonwealth Vision Awards winning short “Signs of Freedom”; and the 2005 Oscar®-nominated short “Little Terrorist”.

In 2004, Sarah established award-winning independent production company, Clarity Productions, which focuses on high-quality, high-impact documentary on key issues of social, scientific and environmental concern. The Company recently won a development deal with Channel 4 Television (UK), who described Clarity Productions as “...one of Scotland’s most exciting new production companies”. Sarah’s projects ­ both as a freelancer and now with Clarity Productions ­ have screened at more than 100 international film festivals and her work featured in The Sunday Times, The Big Issue, The Scotsman, The List, 4Ten Magazine and Shooting People’s ‘Shooters Films’. Sarah is a recent graduate of the EURODOC Programme 2006.
