Madeline Leesons background is in humanitarian aid. Having worked extensively in war-torn areas, in 1997 she teamed up with a photojournalist to launch international photographic project Visual Impact. Backed by the Reuters Foundation and assisted by local NGOs, Madeline and her partner held photographic workshops with children living in areas of armed conflict, from the deserts of Sudan to the devastation of the Balkans. The project has been featured in numerous publications such as LIFE and The Observer.
Madeline is now moving into film production and is also involved with documentary production, From Harwick to Harare, about Zimbabwean band The Bhundu Boys. |
